a Northeast Chi Alpha Campus Ministries Staff Leadership Event

COVID Information

We are excited about meeting in person at INCITE. We recognize there are a variety of concerns and responses to COVID. We have no direct way of knowing how many of our Chi Alpha colleagues are or are in the process of getting vaccinated. We also do not know how many may not get vaccinated before arriving at INCITE.

We are working with Erie First A/G in Erie, PA (our host site for INCITE) to create a safe environment for all who attend INCITE in person.

Here are few guidelines:

As of May 10, the INCITE Exec Team, in compliance with CDC guidelines and regulations, suggests you wear a mask and maintain social distancing while indoors. COVID restrictions are expected to be lifted in PA effective May 30th – we are waiting for clarity. We will have most of our meals in the church gymnasium, and we will provide indoor and outdoor (weather permitting) seating for meals.

If you have had Covid, and/or are vaccinated, you are free not to wear a mask, and interact with others as you see fit. If you are not vaccinated, you are also free to determine how you want to handle wearing or not wearing a mask, and interact with others as you see it. Each of us will have to graciously and honestly work with each other as we gather for INCITE.

We will be using The SUMMIT auditorium for all INCITE sessions. The auditorium seats 350, with theater style seats, but with NO side-arm table feature that can be pulled up for a writing desk. You can determine how close you want to sit to others. When we have small groups each day, you can also determine how close you are comfortable sitting to others.

We will be sanitizing The SUMMIT facility every evening. We will have hand sanitizer and cleaning wipes available in The SUMMIT auditorium, as well as in the gym for meals.

If you or someone in your group has recently been exposed to COVID-19 or is experiencing COVID related symptoms, we ask that you refrain from attending INCITE. We are not planning to take anyone’s temperature while they are at INCITE.

Information on Kids Programming and COVID Procedures

Kahyla Collazo, XAMK Facilitator, has formulated the procedures to follow PA ordinance that will be in place by the date of INCITE. Many of our activities will take place outdoors, to minimize exposure and allow children adequate mask breaks, should parents want their child(ren) to wear masks.  Examples of these activities include water play, time on our playground and fun yard games.  XAMK areas will be cleansed daily. Hand sanitizing stations will be available.

Participants will also be separated into three groups.  Groups will have individualized learning and activity time to minimize risk and exposures.  Those ages are listed below.

Preschool Group: Birth through age 5

Elementary Group: Completed Kindergarten through entering 5th Grade **

Middle School Group: Entering 6th Grade through Completed 8th Grade **

** These groups will be combined for outdoor time.

Lindsay Banton, from UConn Chi Alpha is our XAMK liaison with Kayhla Collazo, children’s pastor at Erie First A/G. Kayhla and her team will lead our XAMK experience. Please contact Lindsay with any concerns or questions you have. She can be reached at 804-994-4099, lindsaybanton@gmail.com.
